Change Challenge Competitors Announced — Change
As you may have heard, we have a fun little eating contest coming up next week. We have a date (Wednesday, April 16), a place ( Tacopocalypse), a dish (The Hot Mess Express), and now FIVE brave competitors ready to take on this challenge. Be sure to come on out and cheer on your favorite amateur eater. You can even RSVP on Facebook and talk some smack.
Day is a professional filmmaker and owner of the Orpheum Theater in Fairfield, Iowa, which also happens to be the home of a second Tacopocalypse. Last summer during the Change Challenge: Hotshots Edition, Day watched his friend Sam Auen, Tacopocalypse owner, valiantly attempt to down three hot dogs. So it appears his participation this time is no coincidence. But who really cares? We just want to see him eat a giant plate of food super fast.
Dreyer is the director of marketing at Willis Auto and long-time friend of the Change crew, but don't think his history and friendship will give him any advantage. He'll still be faced with the same amount of post-meal nausea as the rest of the competitors. Let's just hope he doesn't need a barf bag on his drive back to the dealership.
Blake Crabb
During the Hotshots Challenge, Van Holmgren couldn't quite bring home the big gold trophy for Raygun, so Crabb is stepping up. Will he finally be able to save the Raygun name? Well, he better start practicing, and maybe bump up a shirt size to make room for a mountain of food in his belly.
Hall covers the food and events scene for Des Moines is NOT Boring. We have a feeling this event won't be boring for her insides, but Hall has as good a shot as anyone to not lose her lunch. Although, the blog would probably get a boost in traffic if she did.
Morgan "Morgue" Umsted
Morgue may just have the most competitive spirit in the Change Challenge from her time as a blocker for the Des Moines Derby Dames. Truck-sticking girls left and right is pretty much a daily occurrence for her, so what's the challenge in a big plate of food? That's actually a joke. The plate of food is going to be awful.
